Mr. James Hardy, 83, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at his home. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Richard and Carrie Wilson Hardy.
He was a graduate of Sterling High School, and a retired bus driver for the Greenville Transit Authority. James was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church, Enoree Baptist Church, the Shriners and Masons Prince Hall. He also served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James A. Hardy; three sisters, Rose Paton, Mary Singleton and Annie Harris; and two brothers, Harry Hardy and Richard Hardy.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his wife, Mary A. Floyd Hardy of Greenville; two daughters, Glenda Hand and Jan Bruster, both of Greenville; one son, Jamille (Lottie) Hardy of Greenville; eleven grandchildren, Damien Hardy, Janiqua Hardy, Alicia (Jeremy) Renna, Jacqueline Hill, Jacob Bruster, Jada Hardy, Janae Hardy, Victoria (Mikio) Oyama of Fayetteville, NC, Amanda Hill, Angle Bruster, all of Greenville, SC and Makela Thompson of Greer, SC; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
