Mr. James Willie Perry Smith, better known as “Pete” or “West Greenville’s Finest”, 73,of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at his residence. He was a son of the late William Foggie and Thelma Ware Williams.
He formerly worked for the Greenville Hospital System in the Central Supply Department and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cavaliers Social Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Javon Henry; a sister, Patricia Jacobs; his maternal grandmother, Viola Ware Breazeale; and his paternal grandmother, Pearl Foggie.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are three daughters, Soraya Henry, Trevita Smith and LeKisha Jones all of Greenville, SC; one son, Patrick Taylor of Greenville, SC; six sisters Deloris Washington, Loretta Wilson, Wanda Wilson, Phyllis (Jonathan) Rosemond, Sharon (SanJuan) Washington, all of Greenville, SC, and Lecia (Von) Scribner of Baltimore, MD; five brothers, William Keaton of California, and Thomas Smith, Joe Nathan Wilson, Michael Wilson, all of Greenville, SC, and Tony (Tammy) Wilson of Charlotte, NC; one aunt, Sarah Ware of Greenville, SC; ten grand-children, Narvis Smith, Mia Henry, Symore Sweeny, Antonia Sweeny, Marquette Carrington, Keyona Taylor, Joy Knuckles, Yasmin Jones, Mehki Barton and Khalliah Jones; eleven great-grandchildren; twenty-one nieces and nephews; thirty-seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
