Mr. James Edward Robinson, Sr., 81, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at home. Born in Anderson, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Columbus and Artris Vernon Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a retiree of Vulcan Construction Company and a member of Christian Faith Outreach Center. He loved to sing was a member of the Men’s Choir and a former member of the Singing Melodies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vileaner Gamble and Bernice Cox.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are his wife, Betty Jean Holcombe Robinson of the home; two daughters, Shirley J. Robinson and Teresa Robinson, both of Greenville; seven sons, Ronnie L. Holcombe, James Robinson, Jr., Michael Robinson, Roscoe Robinson, Curtis T. Robinson, Rev. Keith C. (Veronica) Robinson, all of Greenville and Charles Robinson of Knoxville, TN, one sister, Bessie M. Ellison of Greenville; three brothers, J. W. (Barbara J.) Robinson, Robert (Mary Ann) Byrd and James Byrd, all of Greenville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
