Mr. James Lee "Droop" Smith, 82, of Greenville, South Carolina passed on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at his residence. He was a son of the late Johnnie and Ella Ree Searles Smith.

Surviving: two daughters, Sharion V. Smith of the home and Deborah E. Young of Greenville, SC; four sisters, Sadie Lee Smith of Greenville, SC, Fannie M. (Samuel) Brown of Mauldin, SC, Eleanor M. Smith of Greenville, SC and Dorothy Smith of Duncan, SC; four brothers, Johnny (Catherine) Smith, Jr., of Greenville, SC, Roy T. Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Eugene Smith, Sr., of Simpsonville, SC and Eddie (Sharon) Smith of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 1:00pm at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
