James Wofford

August 9, 1969 — September 8, 2019

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven, a time to be born and a time to die. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

A time to be born:
Mr. James Emmauel Wofford was born August 9, 1969, to the late John Edward Wofford and Willie Mae Hawkins-Wofford of Simpsonville, South Carolina. He was a proud graduate of Hillcrest High School Class of 1988.

A time to love:
He will be remembered for the amazing love he had for his wife of 24 years, his children and his grandchildren whom he faithfully helped raise until the very end. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his family when needed the most. He never met a stranger.

A time to enjoy:
Mr. James Wofford was a die-hard Florida State University fan and passed his love of football on to all who grew to love him. He was a collector of a variety of things. He was a hard worker, faithfully employed at Magna until he was injured on the job. He joined Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church at a early age, where he sang in the choir and was a Trustee in training until his health declined.

A time to die:
At 8:30am on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at his home, our Heavenly Father called our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, to be with him.

A time to mourn:
He leaves to mourn and to cherish many memories, his loving and devoted wife, Cassandra Wofford of the home; one daughter, Alexis Jones Williams of Greenville, SC; two sons, Roderick James Emmauel Wofford and Patrick Jevon Wofford, both of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Stefan (Sherelle) Wofford of High Point, NC, Micheal (Johniece) Wofford of Moore, SC, and Roger Dale Lloyd of Virginia; three sisters, Tina Wofford of Simpsonville, SC, Kimberly (Leon) Wofford-Simmons of Greenville, SC, and Charlene Lloyd of Greer, SC; his mother-in-law, Martha Lee McKinney, one sister-in-law, Jennifer McKinney; one brother-in-law, Phillip McKinney; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends he held near and dear to his heart.
