Javan Wood

Mr. Javan “Jake” Wood, 80, of 54 Gandy Avenue, Taylors, South Carolina, passed on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was a son of the late Van Wood and Nellie Chaney Wood.

“Jake” was a self-employed mechanic, he was owner and operator of Wood’s Garage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Irby Wood.

He is survived by eight daughters, LaTonya (Jonathan) Sloan of Piedmont, Patricia Wood, Natalie Blassingame, Ruth Wood, Cynthia Glenn Anitra Wright, Shawna Wright and Marissa Wright, all of Greenville; five sons, Dwayne (La Toya) Wood and Javan Wood, Jr., both of Greenville, Tony (Aretha) Wood of Fairburn, GA, Javan Wright of Travelers Rest and Antwan Wright of Taylors; four sisters, Lucille Goldsmith, Cora (Van) Dickey and Joann Wood, all of Greenville and Lurlean (Raymond) Fowler of Belton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
