Jeanette Byrd

March 31, 1944 — February 24, 2019

Mrs. Jeanette Bowens Byrd, 74, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Greenville Health Systems. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late James Odell Bowens and Mary Lee Williams Bowens.

She was a 1961 graduate of Clearview High School in Easley.  At an early age, she joined the Shoals Creek Baptist Church where she loved singing and served as president of the  Missionary Society


She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Lee Bowens.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are her husband, James Byrd of the home; one daughter, Angela Fanita Byrd of Greenville; two sons, Demetrius Byrd of Simpsonville, and Jason Byrd of Greenville; three sisters, her twin sister, Geneva (Horace) Mansel of Greenville, Shirley (Isaac) Booker and Juanita (Gregory) Butler, both of Easley; one brother, James H. (Debbie) Bowens of Easley; three grandchildren; two aunts, Ella Mae Mansell and Viola Bowens, both of Easley; one uncle, William E. Bowens; a godson, Jamie L. Bowens; two loving friends, Elder Charles Jamison and Mrs. Betty Grant; and a host of other relatives and friends.
