Mr. Jerry Lee Vernon, 79, of, Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Willie Hudson Vernon and Clara Estelle Smith Vernon.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving: his granddaughter, Yolonda (Shawn Weeks) Mitchell of Charlotte, NC; one niece, Carolyn Chapman of Greenville, SC; one nephew, Jonathan (Shirley) Vernon of Greenville, SC, who were his caregivers and special to his heart; two stepdaughters, Vinshelle (Jesse) Jones of Detroit, MI and Charice (Fred) Sparks of Lansing, MI; two stepsons, Williams Mitchell and Victor Mitchell, both of Detroit, MI; thirteen grandchildren; five nieces; three nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, August 26, 2023, 11:00am, at Watkins Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
