Mr. Jimmy Brooks, 83, of Taylors, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Rainey Hospice. Born in Greenville County, South Carolina to the late Robert and Carrie Belle Johnson Brooks.
Surviving: one son, Rodney “Van” (Gwendalyn) Brooks; bonus children, Tandy “Joe” Russell, and Eric (Trina) Russell all of Greenville SC; Janice (Terrance) Gamble of Inman, SC, and Levonda (Willie) Harris, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL; one sister, Emma Brooks Nichols of Uniondale, NY; four brothers, James Oliver Brooks, Roosevelt (Deloris) Brooks, Jerry Dean Brooks, and Jonathan O’dell Brooks, all of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, Rodney Jamarr Brooks, Asheleigh Brooks and Vandalyn Brooks; twelve bonus grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five bonus great-grandchildren; his longtime companion, Annie Janell Russell of Greenville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 1:00pm at Aiken Chapel Baptist Church with interment the in the church cemetery.
