Joe Downs

Mr. Joe Lewis Downs, 82, of Greenville, passed on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home. He was a son of the late Bill and Cornelia Leatherwood Downs.

Surviving: a loyal companion of 35 years, Mamie “Flamey” Davis; two sons, Bobby (Maxine) Downs and Javis Robinson, both of Greenville, SC; four daughters, Denise Gantt of Taylors, SC, Joenell (Blake) Johnson of Mauldin, SC, Loretta Downs of Taylors, SC and Anitra (Brandon) Carr of Niceville, FL; a very special niece, Brenda Mayfield; a special little buddy, Kharsyn Bleu Johnson; blended family, Rickey Nelson, Verlesia Nelson, David (Shunda) Nelson,James (Sharon) Nelson, all of Easley, SC, Merlinda (Wayne) Lynch of Greenville, SC and Mickitia (Tremier) Johnson of Easley, SC; three sisters, Mary Helen Wright of Columbia, SC, Frances Brown of New York, Elaine Downs of Piedmont, SC and Diana Downs of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Barry Downs of Greenville, SC and Charles Downs of Pelzer, SC;; 34 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joe Mayfield of Greenville, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
