Mr. John Thomas Brown was born on Saturday, February 25, 1950, to the late Mary and Roosevelt Brown.
He was educated in the public schools of Greenville County, attending Sterling High School. John retired from Dempsey Roofing Company where he worked as a supervisor for many years. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was a former Trustee.
John was an avid tennis player early in life. He loved his family dearly and was proud to be a Grandfather. John loved fashion and was a sharp dresser. He attended Capital Health Services Adult Daycare where he enjoyed playing cards and building crafts.
John was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, A.B., Ulysses, Lorene, Mary Ellen, Marilyn and Juanita.
On September 14, 1996, John married the love of his life, Janice Young. They made their home in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and close friends.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of twenty-three years, Janice Young Brown; two daughters, Lynn Posey and Niesha Hallums; three sons, Desmond Brown, Jason (Jennifer) Brown and Derek Bolden, all of Greenville, SC; one brother, James (Beverly) Brown of Greenville; grandchildren, Aubree, Antinaria, Nyah, Chosen, Micah, Derek Jr., and Novack; a goddaughter, ExZariah; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
