Mr. John Lee “Johnny” Poole passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois, at the age of 56 years. He was a son of the late James Ollie and Lola Brooks Poole.
A native of Greenville, South Carolina, John graduated from Parker High School, Class of 1979, and Cecil’s Business College. He worked many years in the print department at Bi-Lo, Incorporated.
John moved to Illinois and was employed by Grainger as a Technical Support Associate and Home Depot. He and his wife are also the owners of Torilynne’s Beauty Supply.
“Johnny” was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda P. Lewis; and a nephew, Madison “Trey” Meadows.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories: his wife, Teresa “Terrie” Roberson-Poole; stepsons, Evan and Justin Outlaw of Gurnee, Illinois; brother, Thomas J. Brooks; sisters, Shirley (Edward) Williams, Barbara P. Dowdy and Ruby P. Williams, all of Greenville and Arlene (Wes) Hunter-Meadows of Taylors; sisters-in-law, Debra and Patricia Roberson; brother-in-law, Bill Roberson of Chicago, Illinois; nieces, Deadres Woodruff, Sonya Brooks, Daphne (Lavelle) Sullivan, Sharley “Meme” (Rodrick) Washington, Kimberly Meadows, Brandi Poole and Bre’Aja Poole; nephews, Travis Williams and Tramaine Williams; great-nieces, Angel Brooks, Kayla Meadows and Chelcie Meadows; great-nephews, Jamie Woodruff and Kamdyn Lomax; and a host of other relatives and friends.
