John Richard Henry

Mr. John Richard “Hip” Henry, 77, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Friday, July 20, 2018, at his home. He was a son of the late Thomas Allen and Lola Belle Goldsmith Henry.

He was a graduate of Sterling High School and a retired Yellow Cab Driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnnie Mae Henry; daughter, Evetta Lynette Mitchell; two sons, Jeffery Henry and Franklin T. Henry; a sister, Louise Virginia Mendenhall; and a brother, James Henry.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are daughters, Gloria (Art) Pressley of El Mirage, AZ, Sherry Franklin of Fountain Inn, and Kim Ensley and Nyeshia Smith, both of Greenville; one brother, Roosevelt Henry of Simpsonville; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a special friend, Diane Smith of Greenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
