John Woody

Deacon John Wesley Woody, Sr., 87, transitioned peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Rainey Hospice in Anderson, SC. He was a son of the late Veloney Ladson Woody.

Surviving: his wife of 66 years, Alva Burgess Woody; two daughters, Victoria (Russell) Donaldson and La Shone (Anthony) Carr, both of Greenville, SC; five sons, John (Mary Jo) Woody, Jr., William (Donna) Woody, Robert Woody, Thomas Woody, and Christopher Woody, all of Greenville, SC; a special family friend, Henry Workman; fifteen great-children; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 5, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary with interment at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
