Johnnie Stephens

Mr. Johnnie Lee “Tater” Stephens, of Greenville, South Carolina, was born on July 21, 1945, and departed this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his home. He was born in Prosperity, South Carolina, to the late Lonzo Stephens, Sr., and Dorothy Louise Boyd Stephens.

He was a 1964 graduate of Gallman High School and retired from Two Men and A Truck.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Stephens and a sister, Annie Pearl Pauling.

Left to cherish many fond memories are his wife, Shirley Putman Stephens of the home; stepdaughters, Shirlene Gibson, Linda Gibson, Sheila (Jimmy) Bonaparte and Tina McKinney, all of Greenville; one son,
Johnnie Lee Stephens, Jr., of Greenville; stepsons, Artis Gibson, Steven Gibson and John McKinney, all of Greenville; one sister, Juddie (Johnny) Goodwin of Prosperity; three brothers, Lonzo (Lorraine) Stephens, Jr., of Florence, Freddie Lee Stephens of West Columbia and Steve Stephens of Prosperity; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
