Mr. Joseph Carl Booker, Jr., 65, of Taylors, SC, departed his life on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Cancer Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joseph was born on June 22, 1948 in Greenville, SC to the late Joseph Booker, Sr. and Dorothy Miller Booker. He was the grandson of the late Herbert and Lula Miller.
He joined into marriage with Shirley Dodd in 1971 and two children were born to this union, Carl and Sabrina.
He was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Shirley Dodd Booker; son, Carl S. (Keila) Booker; daughter, Sabrina; grandson, Miles Booker; brothers, Winfred Stanley (Dung) Booker and Clarence (Linda) Booker, Sr.; cousin, James (Diane) Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Allen Temple Church, Taylors Lion Club, or The Gateway for Cancer Research, 1336 Basswood Road, Schaumbur, IL 60173.
