Bro. Joseph C. “Head Hunter” Dillard, 33°, was born Wednesday, August 21, 1946, to the late Fred Dillard, Sr., and Elizabeth Walker Dillard. Joseph broke all earthly chains on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
Joseph was educated in the Greenville County School System.
He worked for Ray Walker Trucking Co. for over18 years until his health declined. Known by his CB radio names, “Head Hunter” or “Double H”, truck driving was his passion.
Joseph joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where he was a past Finance Committee member and Brotherhood member.
Joseph was a Free Accepted Ancient Yorkrite Mason (FAAYM) where he held several offices:
*Past Worshipful Master, Treasurer and Secretary of Mtn. City Lodge #22 of Greenville
*Past Royal Arch for Greenville, State of SC and National levels
*Past member of Knights of Templar for Greenville, State of SC and National levels
*Past Consistory of Greenville and Treasurer of the Consistory for the State of SC and Consistory for the National level
*Past Shriner for Greenville, the State of SC and National levels
*Inspector General for the 33° for the State of SC and National levels.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy McLaughlin and sisters, Iva Jean Suber and Gloria Murray.
Memory lane will continue to be visited by his wife, Linda Bolden Dillard of the home; his daughter, Jacquelyn Evonne Harris; his grandchildren, Joaquinna (Joshua) Hill, Jarvis Dillard, Joshua Dillard and Jevonda Dillard; a great-grandson, Jamari “Mr. Lee” Dillard and Alexia Speaks, a great-niece reared in the home. Sibling memories will be shared with his sisters, Tracy Williams and Lynn Dotson, both of Greenville; brothers, Fred (Linda) Dillard, Jr. of Greenville, Arthur Dillard of Bishopville, and Clary Dillard of Bridgeport, CT; a nephew’s flight through life will also be remembered by aunts, Christine Heard, Betty Ruth Neal, Linda Dillard Butler, Freddie Pendergrass and Linda Pendergrass; uncles, Wallace Dillard, Mitchell Dillard, Daniel Dillard and Henry Dillard; a special cousin, Ramona (Leonard) Blake and a host of other friends and relatives.
