Josephine Simpson

Mrs. Josephine Ann “Josie” Simpson, 71, of Easley, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Greenville Health System. She was a daughter of the late B. Hunter and Alberta Kirksey Hunter.

She was a retiree of Wilbert Plastics and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she served on the Women’s Missionary and Usher Boards.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Ben Gantt and James Simpson.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are two daughters, Marie (Henry) Rhodes of Seneca, and Trina (Leo) Goodman of Spartanburg; four sons, Julius (Gaby) Gantt of Mesa, AZ, Leon Gantt of Lavonia, GA, Tracy (Sunshine) Gantt of Powdersville, and Terry (Stephanie) Whysong of Piedmont; three stepdaughters, Angela Simpson and Alecia Simpson, both of Liberty, and Annette Simpson of Greenville; one sister, Jill Breazeale of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Randy Hunter of Hartford, CT, and Jerry Hunter of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Genny (James) Thompson and Patricia Cason; one brother-in-law, Robert Simpson; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
