Mrs. Juanita Prioleau Orr, departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Greenville Health System. Juanita was born in Sumter County, South Carolina, to the late Elias and Beulah Prioleau, Sr.
She was converted at an early age and joined High Hill A.M.E. Church. After moving to Port Chester, New York, she joined St. Frances A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served as the President of the Stewardess Board, a member of Family Life Council and New Life Choirs. Later she became a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.
Juanita was employed with Ciba Corporation for over thirty years. She loved bowling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was united in marriage to the late Willie Lee Orr for twenty wonderful years.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Orr; her parents; seven brothers, Paul Prioleau, William N. Praylow, Ervin Prioleau, Charlie Prioleau, Elias Prioleau, Jr., James Prioleau, and Thomas Prioleau; and two sisters, Evelyn Gadson and Beulah Knight.
Juanita leaves to cherish many memories, her daughter, Angela (Marvin) Hood, Jr., of Easley, SC; a stepson, Wendell (Tanya) Orr of White Plains, NY; four grandsons, Marcus and Aaron Hood and Joshua and Cameron Orr; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Orr; one brother, John H. (Sylvia) Prioleau of Columbia, SC; one sister, Bertha Hunter of Wedgefield, SC; one brother-n-law, Clarence (Dorothy) Orr of Easley, SC; three sisters-in-law, Clara Turner of Plainfield, NJ, Jane Hallums and Clementine Orr, both of Easley, SC; one special niece, Louise Prioleau of Port Chester, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
