Surviving are his parents, Niyonu McDowell-Wharton and Roderick Wharton of the home; one sister, Abeni Wharton of Greenville; two brothers, Jaevonne McDowell and Lawrence McDowell, both of Greenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
