Ms. Kristyl Tenice “KJ” James, 38, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Greenville Health System. She was the daughter of the late Terrance Williams and Gail L. Thompson James, she was reared in her Grandmother Joyce’s home after her mother’s demise.
At an early age, she attended the Queen Street Baptist Church, where she sang in the Praise of Youth Choir. Later, she and three of her children attended the Mt. Olive F.B.H. Church.
“KJ” was a 1998 graduate of Woodmont High School and was employed as a hotel housekeeper. She was full of fun and her smile was contagious.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Joyce Davis and Sammie Thompson and an aunt, Joni Thompson Davis.
Her remaining family members include: her stepfather, Tommy James of Greenville; daughters, Yanna Sapphire Latrease James of Piedmont and Hadassah Nyla Esther James of Simpsonville; sons, Mandriel LeeKwan James and Israel JustKwan James, both of Simpsonville, Julz TiKwan James of Piedmont and T. Kingston James of Greenville; brother, Tommy James, Jr., of Greenville; aunts, Christy (Frederick) Johnson of Piedmont, Dakota Davis and Theresia Gail Williams of Greenville and Dorothy (Larry) Harris of Asheville, NC; uncle, Kirby Davis of Greenville; great-aunts, Cleve Ann Mack of Greenville and Willie Mae Hagood of Detroit, MI; great-uncle, Herbert E. Mack of Greenville; and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
