Mr. Lace “Plute” Rouse departed his life on February 24, 2019. He was born on August 16, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina,a son of the late Lem Harris, Sr., and Lula Mary Harper Harris
His trademark was playing checkers and helping others in what-ever way he could. “Plute’s” all-encompassing love overflowed into the lives of all he touched.
Preceded in death, in addition to his parents, were eight siblings, Mary Bobo, Arthur Harper, Julia Drummond, Lem Harris, Louise Young, Lois Irby, Edward Young and Harold Young.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his sisters, Bernice Benson of Atlanta, GA, Dorothy Defoor of Buffalo, NY, Linda Harris, Sarah Logan and Deborah Yeargin, all of Greenville, SC, and Jeanette Willoughby, Lula Mae Young and Margaret Young, all of New Haven, CT; three brothers, Lee (Evangelist Faye) Harris of Easley, SC, Clayton Harris of Nashville, TN, and James Young of New Haven, CT; and a host of other relatives and friends.
