Lamar Valentine

November 16, 1945 — November 11, 2016

Mr. Lamar Hezekiah “Hezzie” Valentine, 70, departed this life on Friday, November 11, 2016, at Greenville Health System. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Ruth Esther Adams Valentine.

“Hezzie” was a 1963 graduate of Clearview High School in Easley, South Carolina. He was a member of Shoals Creek Baptist Church. He and his family were avid gospel music lovers. He has played and sang for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sara West and two sisters, Gladys Murphy and Irene McGowan.

Left to cherish his many fond memories are his wife, Kenada Brooks Valentine of the home; daughters, Randolyn Valentine Ridgeway of Greenville and Zanya Wilson of Greenville; sons, Apostle Corey (Enaysha) Thompson of Stockbridge, GA, Kegan (Cindy) Anderson of Summerville, Andre (Bridgette) McCullough of Greenville, and Anthony (Shirley) Aiken of Piedmont; sisters, Wilhelmina (Haskell) Richard of Chesnee and Ossie Carter of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Matthew (Bernice) Valentine of Easley, Benjamin (Cleo) Valentine of Easley, and Carl Valentine of Greenville; twenty-four grand-children; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
