Mrs. Latonya Colter Garrett from Nashville, TN, passed on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the age of 49 in her Greer, SC home with her husband Anthony Cat Garrett of 17 years at her side. Latonya Colter Garrett was born to Leonard and Sheena Hardy Colter of Nashville on September 20, 1973.
She confessed her hope in Christ at the early age of 7 to our Lord Jesus Christ at Olivet Baptist Church.
Latonya graduated in 1991 from Hillwood High school where she excelled in sports. Those sports included track, softball and basketball (all-star team) and have been published in the newspaper several times. She also obtained her bachelor's degree from MTSU in social work in 1996. She continued her faith in the Lord and started a marriage ministry along with husband of 17years called Marriage Uncut in 2019.
She was a beloved wife, a mother, a sister, and a friend to various people that she met along the way in her life journey.
In addition to her parents, Latonya leaves to forever cherish her memory: her husband Anthony Cat Garrett; her three daughters, Courtney Swafford of Chattanooga, TN, Amber Garrett and Farren Garrett, both of Gallatin, TN; one son, Anthony (Annie) Garrett, II of Gallatin, TN; one brother, Eugene Colter of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Oliver and Emory Garrett; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The celebration of life will be Saturday, April 1, 2023, 11:00am at Sacrifice of Praise Worship Center, 52 Airview Dr. Greenville, SC 29607
The celebration will be available via Zoom (983-124-6521) for all who are unable to attend.
