Ms. Laura Lee “Beautiful One” Sherman, 78, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Greenville Health System. She was the daughter of the late James Bates and Viola Finley.
She was better known as “Ms. Laura” to some and Mama to others. “Ms. Laura” had a heart of gold and pl-ayed a huge role in the lives of the people in the Kennedy Park Community, where she was loved by all. She retired from Piedmont Shirt Factory and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Buddy Sherman; grandson, Rickey B. Sullivan, Jr.; an aunt, Mary Wilson; a sister and a brother-in-law, Hattie and Clarence Mills.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are a daughter, Gloria Thompson (David) Davenport of Greenville; five sons, Chad Wilson, Larry (Jennifer) Wilson, Johnny Henry, Bryant Wilson and Bruce Wilson, all of Greenville; twenty-eight grandchildren, Vicki Glenn, Glormanda Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Adeniya Franklin, Marco Wilson, Zamaria Franklin, Quanesha Franklin, Santonio Wilson, Madison Bowens, Julius Bowens, Elijah Wilson, Dante McKibben, Bruce Vance, Levi Wilson, Bruce T. Wilson, Bryce Wilson, Yazmine Wilson, Antonia Anderson, Elaine Tolbert, Nicholas Holmes, Rosiland Holmes, Angela Flemming, Adrian Gambrell, DeAgia Wilson, Jalisa Smith, Aaron Davenport, Quinton Davenport and Alisha Wilson; nine great-grandchildren, Diamond Wilson, LaDavia Tinch, Capri Smith, Chance Wilson, Allison Smith, Candis Young, Patrick Tolbert and Cledrick Smith; five great-great-grandchildren, John Brown, Orlanders Brown, Clifton Mills, Jermaine Mills and Tavaris Mattinson; a godson, Barry Hicks; a goddaughter, Malendia D. Goodman; special nieces, Debra Chase and Kristi Sullivan; special nephews, Anthony Teague and Marcus Sullivan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
