Mrs. Lavonia “Verge” Norman, 83, passed on Friday, July 20, 2018, at her home. She was a daughter of the late Charlie and Purenia Terrel Aiken.
She was a loving mother and grandmother with an affectionate smile that was contagious to whomever she came in contact with. She was a homemaker, a marvelous cook, and loved to work in the yard with her flowers.
She was a member of the Piedmont Manor Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Larry Norman, Jr.
She leaves to cherish many fond memories, her loving husband of 62 years, Larry Norman of the home; four daughters, Bobbie Shell of Mauldin, Catherine (Donnie) Harper and Lavetta Norman, both of Greenville, and Dorothy Norman Dennis of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren raised in the home, Shanika Norman, Michelle Norman, and Larry Norman, III; four sisters, Gladys Kearse, Sophia Nell Aiken and Jossie Olgesby, all of Greenville and Rosa Lee Cook of Greenwood; two brothers, Charlie Aiken, Jr., of Detroit, MI and Lee Arthur Aiken of Atlanta, GA; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
