Lawreese Williams

March 28, 1990 — March 7, 2022

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding; In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

Mr. Lawreese Prince Williams was born and gifted to LaCosha Williams and Johnny Jones on March 28, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. He departed in Greenville, SC on March 7, 2022 to his eternal life.
Lawreese resided in Lithonia and Conyers, Georgia for the majority of his life until recently moving to Greenville, SC. He was baptized at Saint Philip A.M.E. Church at infancy and was actively involved and serving in throughout his life.

He is affectionately known as the “baby” of Saint Philip. Lawreese was the first Acolyte in the church and proudly served under the leadership of the late Pastor, Rev. Dr. George Moore. Lawreese faithfully served in the Children’s Choir, as a Jr Trustee, Jr Usher and Young People Department (YPD). He was also a multiple award winner in community projects including SPC Black History Oratorical and Art contests every year until he left for college. He truly loved his church as his extended family and they loved him too. From childhood, Lawreese demonstrated an amazing passion gift of art, live onsite caricatures of his patrons in 15 minutes, painting and entrepreneurship (age 10 managed by his Mother). One of his most cherished moments as a young entrepreneur was when he was the only minor selected from a lengthy application and promoted by a traveling art show featured at StoneCrest Mall when we was only 15. From that art show and newspaper features, his business blossomed throughout his Teen years with generous bookings for festivals, book artist and personal projects. In addition to his gifts in art, business and church, he was also athletic and played on little league teams from age 5 up until his college years on Dekalb County Recreation teams to Rockdale County High. His athletic teams that he enjoyed the most was basketball, soccer, baseball and football.
Lawreese proudly graduated from Rockdale County High School in 2008. With long term plans to become an Architect, Lawreese attended Savannah State University for the Engineering component. He had business and networking in his heart, and also planned to have a none-profit with his mother upon accomplishing some additional dreams. Lawreese was happily employed at Alltrista Plastics Corp as a Sr Production Associate. His branch manager said that he was one of the most reliable Associates there and that he will be truly missed.

Lawreese had a genuine radiant, outgoing, kind, fun, compassionate and people loving spirit and attitude. He loved family gatherings and spent all Holidays making sure he spent ample time with his Great Grandmothers, Grandmother, Mother and many other relatives and friends. Lawreese loved to travel, and he especially enjoyed Jamaica, Bahamas, annual trips to Florida amusement parks and any Cruise because of the sight-seeing and unlimited 24/7 food (true foodie).

Lawreese leaves to cherish many loving fond memories; Son, Lee Williams (as he joins his son’s mother, Nicka, in Heaven); parents, LaCosha Williams and Johnny Jones; Grandmothers, Loretta W. Ohonba and Lizzie R. Dudley; Great Grandmothers, Merlee Williams and Mamie Young Black; Aunts, Lavetta Ohonba and Aunt Desiree Dawkins-Kennedy; Uncles, Prince Ohonba and Tarus Jones; great aunts, great uncles, cousins, Saint Philip family and many other loving extended family members in DC, GA, NC, NJ, NY, SC, TX and beyond.

Lawreese Prince Williams had a passion, enthusiasm and zest for life that will continue to live on through his legacy of family, memories, speeches and arts. May his soul rest in God’s hands with eternal peace and his shared earthly love shines through us. Lawreese’s cheerful fun and loving presence will be truly missed. Until we see him again one day, we will cherish the “Light of Love” that he shared with us all and many others.
