Mr. Leanord Moore was born on April 3, 1942 in Spartanburg, SC to Beatrice Chapman Moore and the late Samuel DeShields, Sr..
Lenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family and would do anything for them. Lenny was a veteran, an athlete, a hard-working businessman (the first Black District Manager at his company). He was the first person to say that Obama would be the first black president. He also wrote for the Village Press in Hempstead, Long Island. He was an avid golfer as well as playing his best game of tennis. He opened his own Record Company in the 90’s. His smile would light up the whole room. He loved to give hugs.
Lenny was also preceded in death by his brother, Aarron Cornnor, brother, Samuel DeShields, Jr. and sister, Sandra Foster.
Lenny leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Brigette Moore; 2 daughters, Zenna Moore and Latressa Henson (Atoine Henson); 2 sons, Lenny Moore (Jennifer Moore) and Ali Moore; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his 7 sisters, Johnnie Mae Byrd (James), Ms. Willie Mae Chapman, Rev. Mary S. Sloan (Stanley), Mrs. Linda A. Barber (John), Mrs. Francina Taylor (Curtis), Laverne DeShields and Lynette McMillian (Olie) all of Greenville, SC; his brothers, Heyward Chapman, Mr. Freddie Chapman and Rev. Tommy Chapman; his brothers-in-law, Floyd Brown, Jr. (Grace), Ronald K. Brown and Jamal Brown; his 7 aunts, Lois Chapman who is 102, Barbara Buttles, Pat Richardson, Susan Davidson, Janey Curry, Joyce Vasquez and Jackie Hines; his uncles, Booker Hines, Daniel Hines and Michael Hines; his dog that he loved so much, Richie; a great host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends.
