Mrs. Linda Elaine Thompson Williams was born on July 5, 1957, to Mrs. Mary A. Miller Thompson and the late Frank Thompson. She was a 1975 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School. She continued her education at the University of South Carolina and received a Bachelor Degree in Nursing in 1979. Pursuing her passion for caring and healing, Linda worked at several hospitals. She was instrumental in raising the standard of care in Allen Bennett’s Emergency Department and she played an important role in transforming the care and patient experience at Greer Memorial Emergency Department. Linda served for over thirty years with the Greenville Health System. She was a promoter for education and always encouraged herself and others to strive for excellence in everything that you do. Modeling that philosophy, she obtained her Master’s in Health Administration in 2005.
She was a devoted mother, a loving daughter, compassionate sister and ambitious in every pursuit of her life.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Frank Thompson, and a brother, Frank “Junebug” Thompson, Jr.
Her legacy will continue to live through her devoted mother, Mary A. Miller Thompson; a dedicated husband, Keith Williams; three adoring children, Landon Williams, Whitney (Gabriel) Lightner and Danny (Tonya) Rosemond; the beats of her heart, her grandchildren, Brandon Rosemond, Brandi Rosemond, Haidyn Williams, Kyrie Lightner, Sophia Lightner and Olivia Lightner; her sisters and brothers, Barbara Rogers, Janice (Paul) Middleton, Audrey Thompson, Linda Nash Cinda Thompson, Kelvin Thompson and Roderick Thompson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
