Louvenia Jones

November 29, 1946 — January 30, 2022

Louvenia was born on November 29, 1943 to the late Willie and Evelyn Phillips in Newberry, SC.

Willie and Evelyn had nine children born to their union. Louvenia was the fourth child born into this large family where the Lord Jesus Christ was the head. She was raised in a home filled with love, unity, laughter, importance of family togetherness, God fearing, holy ghost filled and anchored in the Word of God. Therefore, making the life journey and travel easier to navigate after departing home, getting married, and starting a family as the foundation was solid as a rock.

She received her education in the Newberry, SC school system until competing high school and moving to the DMV where she attended, graduated at the top of her nursing class (Gallon Nursing College) what is now Georgetown Nursing.

Louvenia worked as an operating room nurse for 40 years and enjoyed many blissful years of retirement traveling, family events, missionary/prayer warrior as this was her calling, attending functions at Windsor Crossing Senior Building, talking on the phone to family and friends daily and mostly, spending time with her daughter.

Louvenia was proceeded in death by her late husband Walter, Parents, Willie and Evelyn Phillips, two brothers Johnny and Willie, one sister Betty and a beloved son-in-law Jeffrey.

She leaves to cherish her memory devoted and dedicated daughter Katrina, four sisters, Willie Mae, Doris, Linda (Kenneth), Ethelena (Richard); two brothers Frank (Eula Mae) and Charles; devoted cousins she was raised with Willie Cage (Josephine), Cecilia, Pauline, Marie, Robert Lee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the extended and adored Maness and Harrell Families. Windsor Crossing Senior Residents, Church of Jesus Christ Bishop John T. Leslie, Mother Louise Leslie and Congregation. Bible Way Church Family, Refuge Temple Church Family, Victory Temple Church Family (SC), Greater Morning Star Church Family, Bishop Charles Johnson, Mother Sheila Johnson, Elder Fletcher Davis and sis. Beverly Davis and Congregation, Spiritual Daughters, Spiritual sons and a multitude of friends and friendship she developed and cultivated with love over many years.

Visitation: Saturday, February 19, 2022 10:00am - 11:00am Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary

Funeral Services: Saturday, February 19, 2022 11:00am at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary with interment in Pinedale Memorial Park.
