Mrs. Lydia Patricia Irby, 70, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at her residence. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Annie Mae Allmond and Bennie Sloan.
Mrs. Irby was the wife of Minister Willie Irby for 45 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kiwana Yiesha Garcia of Charlotte, NC; Nikkia Latanya (George) George Hughes of Suffolk, VA, Adam Benjamin Irby of Miami, FL, and Kristina Dawn Irby of Portsmouth, VA; five sisters, Alta L. Leamon, Jacqueline A. Wesley, Rhonda R. Alexander, all of Greenville, SC, Delisa Sloan-Pitts and Effie Sloan-Williams; one brother, Benny Sloan, Jr.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, May 20, 2023, 1:00pm at New St. Luke United Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
