Margie Lindsey

Ms. Margie Lee Lindsey, 104, was called home on February 6, 2016. She was born on July 4, 1911, in Honea Path, SC. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Ms. Margie was the neighborhood babysitter on Forest Street in the Newtown Community. She loved coloring books and was often found sitting on her porch coloring. She also loved to drink Pepsi. She would tell people that if they wanted her to sing they would need to have a white envelope with the green backs in it. She would read her Bible and sing her church songs everyday. After she fell and broke her hip, she would not take her medication for anyone but Beatrice and Delvessa.

She was predeceased by all six of her children, Bobby Lindsey, Jimmy Lindsey, James Lindsey, Viola Jones, Bishop Mary Kimble and Jessie Mae Lindsey and one grandson, James Lindsey.

Memories will be treasured by her son, Michael Brooks; grandchildren, Mary Alice Chaloupka, Bonnie Mae Rosemond, Bonnie Faye Snoddy, Chante Mattison, Melissa Neely, Barbara Smith and Beatrice Neely; twenty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loved ones and friends.
