Ms. Marilyn Juanita “MJG” Golden, 63, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at her home. She was a daughter of Mildred Meekins Golden and the late Willie Golden.
She was a graduate of Southside High School and was employed at Poinsett Rehabilitation Center. She attended Lincoln Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Johnson; two sisters, Ethel Hawthorne and Sylvia Golden; a godmother, Christine Lindsey; two godbrothers, James (Buck) Lindsey and Willie Pruitt.
Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are her mother, Mildred Meekins Golden of Greenville; three daughters, Amanda Golden, Jan (Tyrone) Callway and Andrea Thompson, all of Greenville; three sons, Robert Golden, Gerald Golden and Travis Byrd, all of Greenville; eight sisters, Sharon (Richard) Martin of Simpsonville, Elaine Golden of Greenville, and Phyllis (Robert) Burton of Piedmont, Lillian Garnett, Connie (Charlie) Turner, Earlene Lindsey, Henrietta Sherman and Rosetta Sherman; all of Greenville; three brothers, Lawrence (Shelly) Golden of Lyman, Rufus (Debra) Golden of Greenville, and Gregory (Rachel) Lindsey of Simpsonville; one grandchild, Zachary Golden; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Johnson and Velda Mae Bailey, both of Greenville; brothers-in-law, John C. Johnson of Simpsonville, Alvin Johnson and Boyce Johnson, both Greenville; god-grandchild,, Tyleck ; two special friends, Dwight McCombs and Bobbie Jameson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
