Marilyn Johnson

Ms. Marilyn Louise “Lynn” Johnson, 70, of Greenville, Sout Carolina, passed at her home on September 30, 2017. She was born in Cordesville, South Carolina, and was a daughter of the late Joe Clifton and Alese Bell Simmons Johnson.

She was educated in the Greenville County School System and Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School. She was employed by the Greenville Health System and attended the Mount Olive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Pinckney and Carrie Green Simmons; a nephew, Larry Johnson; and uncles, Herman Simmons, Samuel Simmons, Jessie Simmons, Pinckney Simmons, Jr., and Elias Simmons; and an aunt, Clara S. Butler.

Left to cherish many fond memories are a sister, Mary (Frank) Stephens of Greenville; brothers, Calvin (Janiell) Johnson, Joe (Brynda) Johnson, Jesse Johnson (Barbara Hill) and Arthur Lee Johnson (Leola Henderson), all of Greenville; aunts, Christine Cureton and Geneva Laboon, both of Greenville, Lucille Simmons and Elosie Simmons, both of Cordesville, SC and Lillian Dixon of Islip, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
