Marques Carrington

September 9, 1978 — March 5, 2020

Mr. Marques Kinte “Tay” Carrington, 41, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed March 5, 2020, at Prisma Health Upstate. He was the son of the late Ada Ruth Carrington.

He was a graduate of Berea High School and Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. He was an Entrepreneur, DJ and Promoter. He attended Greater New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one uncle, Danny Carrington

Tay had been Greenville’s DJ for over 16 years. He traveled near and far for social clubs events, weddings, parties and to be the DJ at his very own clubs. We all know he knew how to take you back to your momma-nem days.…He was part owner of Club Cream, Club Dreams and Kream Bistro. He absolutely loved people and people loved him. Everyone knows he was always a giver and would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. He would talk a lil smack…no a lot of smack (lol), but he always came through. Nobody was known to him by their real name because Tay would give everybody a nickname and that’s what he would always call you. If you knew Tay, or even if you only knew him from social media…….EVERYBODY knew he loved himself some groceries (lol)…And it wasn’t just food, it included his 180 pounds or better plus size women or BBW as he called them. As he always would say, if anyone ever needed his DJing services, all he needed was “4 Walls and an Outlet and we got Business Trust Ya Process #8732.

I'm Dropping the Mic Going home to be with my Homie, My Mom!

As MrIAmTheClub said himself...WEST GREENVILLE birthed me... KINGSTON COURT, LAKESHORE raised me...But FIELDCREST “Made Me” and my crew changed it to BRICK CITY. #WHOBETTA#
