Mary Ann Dodd

Mrs. Mary Ann Sue “Big Mama” Dodd, 74, of Greer, South Carolina, departed this life to go to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Pelham Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Walter Grove and Angie Bowens Grove.

She was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School and was a former employee of J.P. Stevens Company.

She was a devoted member of the Shoals Creek Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful usher, a member of the Missionary Ministry, a former van driver, a chaperone for the Vacation Bible School.

“Big Mama” was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Homer Lindsey Dodd; and a brother, Tony Grove.

Left with many fond and loving memories are eight daughters, Mary Harris of Greer, Jackie Branch and Linda Dodd (Alvin) Cohens, both of Greenville, Colene (Orson) Garcia of Taylors, Regina (Stanley) Wilkins of Moore, Connie Dodd of Greer, Sherry (Daniel) Jones of Greer and Rosie Nze of Moore; one goddaughter, Tracy Chambers of Spartanburg; two sisters, Mattie Booker of Taylors and Conny Griffin of Greenville; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
