Mary Ruth “Ruthie” Duggins Golden peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on August 2, 2017. Mary was born on May 4, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Frank and Vernell Duggins. The family then moved to Newark, New Jersey, in 1958.
Mary attended West Side High School and graduated in 1970. She was then employed at Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark. She later moved on to UPS as a package car driver until she was disabled in 1994.
Mary met her husband, the love of her life, Jethro Golden in 1971. They were married on November 17, 1973, and to this union three daughters were born: Yolanda, Kevanya, and Ebony. They raised their family in Hillside, New Jersey. Mary and Jeff relocated to Simpsonville, South Carolina, in January 1997, to be closer to their family and were both members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.
Mary was predeceased by her five brothers: Harold, Frank, Benny, Jeffrey, and Michael.
Left to treasure wonderful memories are her loving husband of forty-three years, Jethro Golden; three daughters, Yolanda Golden and Kevanya Golden, both of Fountain Inn, SC, and Ebony Graham of the home; three grandchildren, Brielle Golden, Jordyn Golden, and DeShaun Golden, all of Fountain Inn, SC; two sisters, Nellie Ann Duggins and Mildred (Leroy) Williams, both of Fountain Inn, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
