Mary Neal

Mrs. Mary Ellen “Mae” Durham Neal, 87, of 121 Old Homestead Road,Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, March 5, 2018, at home. She was a daughter of the late Tobe and Cornelia Bailey Durham.

She attended Sterling High School and formerly worked as a Social Worker for S.H.A.R.E and a receptionist for the Greenville County Auditor’s Office before retiring.

Mother Neal loved the Lord and was a powerful prayer warrior. She was a member of the Faith Cathedral Look Up and Live Ministries; while there she was the church mother. Later, she returned to her home church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she served in the Missionary Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Edward Neal; and three brothers, John Wesley Durham, Harold Durham, and W.C. Durham.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are three daughters, Joyce Neal (Ronnie) McDaniel and Kimberly Brunner, both of Greenville, SC and Bridgette Neal of Petersburg, VA; two sons, Aaron Neal of Greenwood, SC and Duane (Beverly) Neal of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren who adored her,Chantay McDaniel, Joshua Neal, Joseph McDaniel, Caleb Neal and Cameron McDaniel; an aunt, Corrina Bailey of Buffalo, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
