Mary Thompson

Mrs. Mary Ellen Lathan Thompson, 75, of 34 Duck Lane, Travelers Rest, South Carolina, departed this life on Friday, February 2, 2018, at her home.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a retiree of Curtron Manufacturing Company. A faithful member of the Mountain Grove Baptist Church, she was in the Ladies Choir, the Jefferson Davis Ensemble, Pastor’s Aide Committee and the YWA’s.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Geneva Andrews; the parents who raised her, Jim and Helen Lathan; and her husband, Bobby Joe Thompson.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are: two daughters, Nisa (Art) Drakeford of Greenville, and Torie Thompson of Travelers Rest; one sister, Ethelena (Mike) Duck of Travelers Rest; two grandchildren, Artashia Drakeford and Kaya Drakeford; two aunts, Gail McBee of Simpsonville and Frances Majors of Hartford, CT and a host of other relatives and friends.
