Mrs. Mary Lois Williams, 87, of Greenville, passed on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. She was a daughter of the late Grant Taylor and Bertha Beeks Taylor Griffin.
She retired from Union Bleachery Mill. At an early age she joined the Queen Street Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir. Many years later she became a member of the Mt. Sinai World Outreach Church where she served faithfully until her health began to decline.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Taylor and Peggy Ferguson; brothers, Homer Taylor, J.W. “Bud” Taylor and Grant Taylor, Jr. and a special aunt, Grace Gary.
Left to treasure many memories are two daughters, Ruby M. Williams and Shirley A. (Deacon Lewis) Still, both of Greenville; one son, Deacon Tony (Min. Veronica) Williams of Greenville; a nephew reared in the home, James “Scottie” Taylor; four grandchildren, Shelia (Adrian) Leverette, Von Williams, Shantel L. Still and Patrick Kirksey, all of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Queen Sloan of Belton and Blondella Williams of Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
