Mazie Kearse

Ms. Mazie Ruth Kearse, 57, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at her home. She was a daughter of Gladys Lee Kearse and the late Willie Kearse.

Mazie was educated in the Greenville County School System and was self-employed. She was a faithful member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. She was president of the Pastor’s Aide Committee, a member of the Deaconess Ministry, the Visitation Team and Adjutant Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Kearse; a sister, Joyce Donald and a niece, Quitta Aiken.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are her mother, Gladys Lee Kearse of Greenville; one daughter, Tamiko (Johnnie) Durham of Piedmont; three sisters, Linda Aiken and Shirley Aiken, both of Greenville, and Brenda Kearse of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Thomas Aiken and Willie Henry (Desiree) Kearse, both of Greenville; three grandchildren, Shabrittney Kearse, Shameia Williams, and Shamorie Durham; aunts, Sophia Aiken and Lavonia Norman of Greenville; an uncle, June Aiken of Detroit, MI; extended family members of Mazie’s who she adored, Pastor Stacey “Bishop” and Lady Mills; goddaughter, Angel (Larry) Coleman; sisters, Kiersten Mills and Rose Jackson; brothers, Harrison and Zion Mills; Geraldine (Allen) Brown and Family, Ruthie (Conway) Sexton, special nieces, Tonette Donald and Sonia Aiken; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
