Mr. Michael Albert Patterson was born September 25, 1959, in Greenville, South Carolina. He departed this life June 26, 2017, in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was the eldest and only son born to Reverend Albert Patterson and the late Edna Mae Patterson.
Mike accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Abel Baptist Church. He attended League Middle School and graduated from Wade Hampton Senior High in 1977. After graduating high school, he served in The United States Air Force. Mike was an exceptionally talented and smart man and went on to continue his education in which he obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Welding 1989, Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Technology 1990 and attended a program in which he became certified as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician. In addition to Mike's overwhelming knowledge of airline aviation he was also very gifted in the area of carpentry: building cabinets, laying hardwood floors as well as cabinets. Mike was also very business savvy. Mike was a true gift of GOD.
On October 18, 1986, he married his wife, Anita Yolanda Massey Patterson and to this union of almost 31 years, one daughter was born, Michelle Kristina Patterson. He has three beautiful grandchildren that love and will miss their "Paw-Paw".
Mike was a loving husband, dedicated father and a hard working man who worked for American Airlines for 23 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Edna Mae Patterson.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory his father, the Reverend Albert Patterson of Greenville, SC; his devoted wife, Anita Massey Patterson; his daughter, Michelle Patterson (Arlando), his sister, Jacquelyn Thompson; nephew, Trey Michael; two granddaughters, Arlayha and A'Neveah Knox; grandson, Arlando Knox Jr. and several other relatives and close friends.
