Mr. Mickey James Harris, 51, of Greenville, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, March 6, 2017, at home. Born in Simpsonville, South Carolina, he was a son of Thomas Elias and Mattie Jean Scott Harris.
Mickey was a 1984 graduate of Mauldin High School and was formerly employed by Dow Brands. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Simpsonville and previously worked at the Voting Polls.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin F. Harris and his grandparents, Frank and Virginia Sanders Scott and Gertrude Redmond Goodwin.
Left to treasure many fond memories, in addition to his parents: two daughters, Mequisha Williams and Asia Harris, both of Greenville; one son, James D. Johnson of Greenville; five sisters, Vandessa Harris Rosemond of Greenville, Stacey C. Harris (Samuel) Adams of Simpsonville, Marilyn H. (Darrell) Durham of Greenville, G. Regina Harris-McCray of Norcross, GA and Debra McDowell of Greenville; five brothers, William E. Harris of Greenville, Thomas A. Harris of Greenville, Dexter S. Harris of Greenville, Timothy D. Harris of Piedmont, and Harold McDowell of Greenville; one grandchild, Chase A. Harris; three aunts, Janie Rosemond of Piedmont, Geraldine Griffin of Greenville and Alberta Cook of Fountain Inn; five uncles, John L. Harris of Simpsonville, Otis Scott of Greenville, Frank Scott, Jr., Theodore Scott and Ernest Scott, all of Fountain Inn and a host of other relatives and friends.
