Mikal Burton

Mr. Mikal Jawwaad Burton, 41, of Piedmont, South Carolina, passed on Sunday, October 7, 2018, in Portland, Oregon. Born on April 29, 1977, in Greenville County, he was a son of Michael and Kathy Burton.

Mikal was a graduate of J.L. Mann High School, Class of 1996, and attended P.C.C. Sylvan College in Portland, where he was an honor student. He was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

Surviving, in addition to his parents; his fiancé, Kuanna Blackmon of Portland, OR; a daughter, Armonte Michelle-Ashawri Spears- Burton of Portland OR; sons, JaQuan Burnside of Greenville, and Qua’Dir Mikel Burton of Portland, OR; a sister, Kyah Nicole Burton, of Piedmont, SC; aunts, Amelia Burton, Mattie Hunter and Lillian Hewins, all of Greenville, SC; uncles, Albert Lee Burton of Orangeburg, SC, Freddy Burton of Greenville, SC, Wallace (Barbara) Hewins of Mauldin, SC, Walter (Elaine) Hewins of Fountain Inn, SC, and Berry Hewins of Mt. Vernon, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends
