Mr. Brooks Heyward, Jr.

Mr. Brooks Heyward Jr., 92 of Greenville, South Carolina, widower of the late Ruth Elizabeth Collins Heyward, transitioned on Friday March 21, 2025, at Richard Cambell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Barnwell, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Brooks, Sr. and Juruther Isaac Heyward.

Surviving: two daughters, Sylvia Edwards of the home and Rose Heyward of Greenville, SC; three sons, Vernard (Laurie) Heyward of Virginia, Phillip (Elaine) Heyward of Greenville, SC and Barry (Sonia) Heyward of Woodruff, SC; three sisters, Daisy Baxter of Blacksville, SC, Lucile Jordan of New York, NY and Dechelle Heyward of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Abraham Heyward of Blacksville, SC, Mitchell and Woodrow Heyward both of Greenville, SC ; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; host of great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
