Mr. Herbert Berry Jr.

Mr. Hebert Berry, Jr., 75, of Greenville, husband of Carroll Burton Berry for 10 years, transitioned on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Prisma Health Hospital. Born in Pike County, Alabama, he was a son of the late Jessie Bell Berry and Herbert Berry Sr.

He attended Ansley School and Shellhorn School. An ambitious worker, he worked for Ford Motor Company, Lorain Assembly in Ohio, for 35 years and later retired as a beloved supervisor.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time on family vacations, attending family reunions and being in charge (giving people instructions). The hobbies he enjoyed were gardening and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife: three sons Carlos Berry of Ohio, Steve Burton of Greenville, and DeErwin Brooks of Ohio; three sisters, Mary and James Byrd of Alabama, Linda Berry of Alabama and Jessie and Robert Gambles of Alabama; two brothers, Willie and Barbara Berry of Ohio, and Jimmy Berry of Alabama. Raised in the home of Herbert Berry, Jr., were Felicia Berry, Vernard Berry, Jr,,Carlos Berry, Jr., host of other grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be at Long Branch Baptist Church, Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
