Linda Lou Brooks was born on January 25, 1934, in Travelers Rest, SC to the late Carl Anderson Sr. and Carrie L. Anderson. She departed her earthly life and entered her heavenly home on January 13, 2025.
Linda was the eldest of eight children. She was a faithful member of Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess. Linda was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Chapter #215.
Linda is preceded in death by the love of her life, Mr. Crawford Brooks. The two wed in 1961 and were deeply committed to one another until his passing on November 6, 1998. Together, they raised three children and built a lasting legacy of love.
Linda leaves to cherish fond memories with her daughter Susan Wardlaw (Danny) of Travelers Rest, SC, and her son Donald Brooks of the home.
Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Diane Henderson, her sisters, Elizabeth Workman and Melissa Floyd, and her brothers, James Anderson, Carl Anderson Jr., and David Anderson.
Linda greatly adored her grandchildren, Jarvis Henderson (Rokeisha), Javis Henderson (Chris), Justin Wardlaw, Jalien Brooks, Krystal Wardlaw, and her great-grandchildren, Jaliyah Henderson, Jaliel Henderson, Jarvis Henderson Jr., and Jordyn Aiken.
She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Lawrence "L.D." Anderson and Margaret Young (Michael); Tarik Henderson, who was raised in the home; one brother-in-law, Grant Brooks (Mallie); two sisters-in-law, Ida B. Anderson and Rachel Anderson; three adopted children, Lurie Henderson, Blake Duck, and Cleopatra Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Funeral Services: Friday, January 17, 2025, 1:00pm, at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary, with interment in Mt. View Memorial Park.
