Mrs. Shirley Ann "Nanny" Thompson

Mrs. Shirley Ann “Nanny” Thompson departed this life on October 20, 2015, at her home. She was born on January 27, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Jack Steele and Mildred Lee Harris.

“Nanny”, as she was affectionately called by many, was a loving and strong woman. She nurtured her children to become strong as well; she wanted them to able to handle life’s challenges. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Whiteside.

She has left many treasured memories for her family: her husband, Willie James “June” Thompson of the home; daughters, Annette Terry of Asheville, NC, Charlena Blassingame, Tina (Willie) Sitton, Antoinette (Michael “Mike”) Glenn and Betty (Duncan) Benson all of Greenville, SC and Jacqueline Leake of Fountain Inn, SC; son, Ricky (Danita) Terry of Springfield, MD; sisters, Joan L. Greene of Charlotte, NC and Lucy Lee of Greenville, SC; brother, Aaron (Mrs. Lee) Lee of Greenville, SC; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
