Mrs. Naomi Mozelle Hubert White was born on March 8, 1914, Eau Gallie (now a part of Greater Melbourne), Florida, to Mr. William and Mrs. Rachel Leah Poinsett Hubert.
She was the last surviving member of her natal family which included her brothers, William and Benjamin Hubert; and her sisters, Zella Hubert Francis, Carrie Hubert Gray and Rachelle Hubert Smith.
A graduate of FAMC (now FAMU) she began and ended her 47-year teaching career in Jackson County, Florida. She and her late husband, Raleigh Roland White, were married for over 60 years.
She is survived by her three children, Vanester Watkins (Ida) White, Hubert Roland (Dayatra) White, Sr., and Rolanda White McElveen; five grandchildren, Gilbert White, Vanessa White (Ronald) Roberts, Denise (Shedrick) McGriff, Hubert Roland White II and Lia Naomi Hubert White; four great-grandchildren, Cierra McAlister, Kobe Allen, Marcus McGriff and Mason McGriff.
She was a devoted member of St. James AME Church in Marianna, Florida, a Sunday School Teacher, an avid pianist, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived and loved well until her peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
