Nellie Vaughn

December 9, 1938 — May 20, 2017

Mrs. Nellie Vaughn, 78, passed on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at NHC of Mauldin. Born in Pelzer, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Nellie Garrett Donald and William Henry Donald.

She obtained a B.S. in Nursing from USC-Spartanburg and was a Registered Nurse for over forty-four years at the Greenville Health System.

She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was affiliated with the Deaconess Ministry, a former Sanctuary Choir member, former Missionary President and a member of the Morning Bible Study.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John “Pim” Vaughn; a sister, Elizabeth Davis and her brothers, William Henry Donald, Jr., and Jimmy Lee Donald.

Left to mourn the transition of Mrs. Vaughn: one daughter, Sonya M. Vaughn of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, Michael (Lindsay) Vaughn of Buford, GA; three sisters, Sara F. Owens of Chicago, IL, Dorothy A. Burks of Greenville, SC, and Thresea Donald of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Charles C. Donald of Aurora, OR and Floyd P. Donald of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, Audrey, Katie and Emma Vaughn and a host of other relatives and friends.
